Sometimes we forget just how special we really are in God's eyes, how much He loves us, and how He created each person with unique gifts and talents to be great!
The past couple of weeks have been surreal, and not in a good way. First, the Coronavirus infected the United States. Next, the schools shut down, and my most favorite times of the school year were postponed. Then, we faced the threat that everything could be canceled. We moved to digital learning in a matter of days. The scariest change of all was not being allowed to go to Mass. I can’t remember a time when I haven’t been allowed to go to Mass. What is even more shocking is that my grandparents can’t even remember a time when they weren’t allowed to go to Mass. All of these big changes are unsettling and hard to process.
COVID-19 has had a huge impact on the fate of the rest of the 2020 school year. Activities such as spring athletics, prom, graduation, musical, and academics have all been put into the hands of the unknown, which is a very uncomfortable feeling for everyone. With all of the unknown ahead, the administration at Lehman refused to let this ruin the plans for the rest of the school year. They came up with a plan that would allow us to continue learning over a video platform called Zoom. This has been a really weird experience for everyone involved, but I am glad that our school came up with an efficient plan so quickly.
