English Teacher

The teacher in this position will be responsible for the planning and delivery of English/Language Arts for English levels I/II/III and the Media & Film elective. This educator will be responsible to develop lessons aligned with the Ohio Model Curriculum for English/Language Arts and meet the needs of our Lehman High School students. Additionally, the educator will be responsible for assessing the academic progress of the students, modifying lessons as needed to meet IEP/504 plans, collaborating with other teachers across content areas, and cooperating with the school administration and community to work towards the school’s goals academically and those aligned with our school accreditation.

Major Duties:

  • Plan, modify, deliver, and assess lessons and class activities aligned with the Ohio Model Curriculum Standards.
  • Adapt the curriculum to meet individual student needs and utilize research-based instructional strategies to translate standards into successful learning experiences.
  • Incorporate technology to extend content and skill mastery and technology and language literacy.
  • Maintain classroom organization and discipline needed to achieve a learning atmosphere.
  • Devise and utilize various forms of assessments (formative/summative, formal/informal) to measure student growth and content mastery.
  • Maintain progressive records of student learning and prepare comprehensive student reports (interims/report cards).
  • Communicate with parents on students’ progress, needs, and ways to support them at home.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other professional staff in academic and personal growth areas.
  • Develop a classroom community that fosters positive relationships, student independence, and a strong moral compass.

A background in English, literature, or communications is preferred; a master’s degree is not required. Integrated Social Studies Teacher

Are you a history buff and interested in finance and economics? This position is for you! Lehman High School welcomes a candidate with the ability to integrate current events into their lessons, facilitate healthy debates and engaging classroom discussions, instill the students with civic information to make educated decisions, and provide them with a well-rounded curriculum that encompasses world history, geography, politics, economics, societal issues, and personal finance. This position is responsible for instruction in World History, Sociology, and Personal Finance. Must hold or be eligible for a valid high school Integrated Social Studies teaching license (or equivalent) issued by the state of Ohio, a master's degree is preferred, but not required. A Lehman High School teacher must have the ability to work collaboratively; be proficient in communication technologies and must understand and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church. Head Custodian

Job Summary: Responsible for performing various duties to maintain the clean and professional appearance of the campus.

Reports To: Business Manager

Terms of Employment: Full time/40 hours per week, 12 months

General Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all campus areas are kept very clean and in proper working order. Clean individual classrooms including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping. Clean and sanitize all restrooms daily. Clean all hallways daily.
  • Assist Administration in areas as needed, including fixing, installing, and maintaining various equipment and materials.
  • Follow the custodial checklist.
  • Lifting up to 70 lbs. or more (ie. Furniture, ladders, etc.)
  • Ensure all information regarding employees, staff, and students is kept confidential.
  • Address staff and student custodial needs and issues as they arise.
  • Keep current with campus security policies and procedures.
  • Participate with other staff in promoting good teamwork.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly.
  • All personnel, regardless of position, must understand and support the philosophy and Mission of Lehman Catholic High School. Must complete Virtus training and proper background checks when hired.
  • This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other responsibilities for the effective operation of Lehman Catholic High School, as deemed necessary by the Business Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required with related experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and change priorities as needed.
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information.
