Yesterday the Lehman Catholic Boys Varsity Golf team celebrated seniors -- Henry Petersen, Jack Williams and Carter Rigel -- at their last home TRC match at Shelby Oaks. Cavaliers played Miami East, winning their ninth straight match, 153 to 165. They are 9-0 in the Three Rivers Conference and first place in overall standings.

The team score of 153 was led by match medalist Henry Petersen shooting a 32 which ties a Lehman 9-hole record, that has gone unmatched for 15 years! He now joins Nate Fridley, Will Fridley, Peter Berlekamp and Bill Burke with this special honor! Other varsity scores were: Jack Williams 40, Carter Rigel 40, Braden Ulbrich 41, Shane Frantz 45 and Matthew Adams 47.

Last Saturday, the Cavs defeated Troy Christian and Bethel in a tri-match. Lehman 155, Bethel 175 and Troy Christian 182. Jack Williams (match medalist) and Henry Petersen shot 33 and 34, respectively. Matthew Adams 42, Shane Frantz and Braden Ulbrich 46 and Carter Rigel 48.

Next up the Cavs travel to Reid Park North in Springfield for the David Christoff Memorial Invitational this Saturday.

This morning, these fine gentlemen met for the first time and established the St. George Young Men's Society. Named for St. George the Dragon Slayer, who used the sign of the cross to slay the dragon and defend the people of Cyrene. He was executed by Diocletian in 303. The core values they will follow throughout the year are: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.

St. George Young Men's Society will meet in Mr. Fink's classroom every Friday at 7:30 a.m. and is open to all young men at Lehman.
