Last week, fifteen Cavalier student-athletes attended the 3rd Annual Three Rivers Conference Leadership Conference at the Arbogast Performing Arts Center in Troy. Students participated in games and breakout sessions focused on building leaders on and off the field. Students were asked to choose words important to leadership - gratitude, trust, respect, ethical, service-oriented, team work, positivity, commitment, loyal, humble, and character were a few words they included. Future leaders in the making! Way to represent, Cavaliers!

What a winter! As I'm sure it's been a question in your mind, it certainly has in ours about the number of hours we've missed of school due to weather. I just calculated this and wanted to share to answer any questions you may have about making time up.
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati (AoC) requires that its schools have a minimum of 1,060 hours (approx. 163 days) of instruction time each year, and that we do not have fewer instructional hours per year than the public district in which the school is located (Sidney City). (The State's minimums for 7-12 grades is 1,001 instructional hours for the year.) However, when considering calamity days, the AoC requires that after subtracting the time missed for weather purposes, its schools must have no less than 1,030 hours of instruction.
For this school year, Lehman's approved calendar had 1,153.75 instructional hours. After subtracting the 70.5 hours we've missed due to weather as of today, we are left with 1,083.25 hours of total instruction. That means we have 53.25 hours (approx. 8 days) that "could" be missed before having to make up days. Of course, we pray that no more days are missed, and that good weather comes soon!
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
