For the first time in history, students from both Lehman Catholic High School and Holy Angels Catholic School will attend the Wright State Honor Band Festival in February. The Festival is coordinated by Director of Bands Dr. Shelly Jagow. Lehman students include senior horn player Alexis Bollinger (Piqua Catholic alum), sophomore trombone player Janessa Coverstone (Holy Angels alum), and sophomore flute player Ashlyn Hamblin (Holy Angels alum). Holy Angels students include 8th-grade trumpet player O'Keefe Cooper, and 8th-grade flute player Anna Minneci. These students will perform in one of the two high school wind ensembles, and a middle school concert band. Clinicians and conductors of these groups include esteemed music educators Kyle Young, Richard Saucedo, and Dr. Matthew Warner. These students will also be working with music professors at Wright State University, and will learn four to five pieces of music in just three days! The final concerts will be held in Wright State University's Schuster Hall at 1 p.m. next Saturday. Congratulations to Alexis, Janessa, Ashlyn, O'Keefe, and Anna!
