The government and history students of Lehman Catholic had the privilege and honor of attending the ceremony at the AVTT-TWF Traveling Wall at Custenborder Park in Sidney last Friday.
The wall is a replica of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. Accompanying the Vietnam Wall was a Field of Crosses, surrounded by flags. In total, 1,000 crosses were displayed to honor all 8,000 US soldiers who have perished while on active duty between 1975 and today. The students also had the opportunity to listen to speeches from Colonel David Taylor (Vietnam Veteran) and Chief Master Sgt. Steve O’Meara (Iraq War Veteran and former Sidney Firefighter).
