Lehman Catholic High School welcomes Luke Carey as the new Director of Development. Carey, in partnership with the President and Lehman Foundation, is charged with creating the vision and strategy for the school's development and advancement initiatives. Leading our philanthropy efforts, he will grow and build relationships with donors, alumni, and stakeholders to increase annual fund giving and grow Lehman Catholic’s endowed funds.

Luke, Dayton native, is a graduate of Oakwood High School and Franciscan University of Steubenville. After working in education—as a teacher and an administrator—he followed his call into ministry. Working directly with Archbishop Schnurr, he created the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Office for Young Adult Evangelization & Discipleship. Following his success at the Archdiocese, he worked at Glenmary Home Missioners as the Planned Giving & Major Giving Officer until March 2021.

“I’m thrilled to join the Lehman Community as Director of Development," said Carey. "I’m looking forward to working alongside Lehman’s Foundation, the outstanding leadership team, staff, faculty, and families to support our mission and vision.”

Catholic millennials might recognize Luke as a speaker and podcast host talking about the collision of faith and culture. He will begin Notre Dame’s Executive Master’s in Nonprofit Administration program in June 2021. Luke and his wife Erin have been married for more than five years and reside in Oakwood, OH with their nine-month-old daughter, Everleigh. He loves all things US Soccer, Hans Urs von Balthasar, Benedict XVI, film and unfortunately the Cincinnati Bengals.

“We are excited to welcome Luke to the Lehman community. As the Development Director, he will play a critical leadership role in helping us realize our strategic vision as we position Lehman Catholic to best meet the changing needs of our students and community,” said Josh Ater, President of Lehman Catholic. “As we head into our 50th-year celebration, Luke will be instrumental in strengthening our culture of philanthropy and raising the funds needed to support and advance our mission.”
