Two teams of students from Lehman Catholic High School competed in the 2021 Area IV Envirothon. Envirothon is an outdoor competition designed to test the knowledge of high school students concerning natural resources in Ohio. The goal of this competition is to stress the importance of our natural resources and to promote their importance in maintaining a healthy environment. Envirothon encourages group problem solving and team building. It promotes an increased interest in sciences and helps students become involved in environmental issues in the future.

This year’s competition was virtual. Three of the 37 teams participating were from Shelby County. Lehman Catholic Team No. 1 placed 17th overall and the highest out of the Shelby County teams.

“Our students started to prepare for this competition in February. This team worked together to learn the material in a very short amount of time,” said Tracy Hall, Envirothon Advisor. “They were dedicated and showed up early day after day to prepare. I am very proud of them and this accomplishment."
