Guidelines for Prom Attire

Lehman’s Junior-Senior Prom is April 16. Just a reminder as you are shopping for this special event. Here are the attire guidelines for the prom.

ATTIRE FOR GIRLS

  • A semi-formal or formal dress, including strapless dresses, cannot be so low cut as to show any cleavage.
  • Hemlines and slits in dresses or skirts must extend over halfway beyond the thigh.
  • Students should be certain that the fit of the dress will continue to be modest and appropriate during the entire evening.
  • Two-piece formal gowns and dresses with “see-through”, transparent, sheer, or cut-out portions of the dress must adhere to the same modesty policies as if no fabric were included.
  • The back of the dress must not dip below the midpoint of the back.
  • Girls must wear shoes.
ATTIRE FOR BOYS
  • Boys must wear suits, sport coats, or tuxedoes with dress shirts and ties or sweaters/vests.
  • No shorts, denim, athletic shoes, ball caps, or torn clothing will be permitted
  • Boys must wear shoes.

Students are reminded to dress modestly. Administration reserves the right to refuse admission to students not properly/modestly dressed.
