Financing Tuition
Think you can't afford Lehman? Think again!
It is difficult to place a value on what your child receives in four years at Lehman Catholic. Unlike material gifts that you purchase for your child, the gift of Catholic education is one that will remain with your child throughout their life. To borrow a phrase from a popular television commercial, A Catholic education is the gift that keeps on giving.
Three specific values of the gift of a Lehman Catholic education include:
- 100% of our graduates choose to continue their educations after high school at excellent state, regional, and national colleges and universities.
-
Our performance statistics illustrate the value of a Lehman Catholic education:
ACT Composite Test Scores Lehman High School Average
23.4State Average
21.8National Average
21.1 - The students in the Class of 2012 were offered a total of $2.4 million in scholarships and grants, providing an average student award of more than $42,000.00!
The school's Board of Trustees is committed to providing parents with financing options that make tuition affordable for your family. The tuition is set each year by the Board after carefully considering all the costs of operating the school.
- Tuition for the 2012-13 academic year is $7,150.00 or $715.00 per month (over 10 months).
- Course fees are assessed for courses to cover the special materials used in the class (i.e., students taking Chemistry are charged the cost of the materials used in experiments) The average fees charged to undergrads (freshman through juniors) are $300.00, with seniors paying an average of $800.00 in fees (graduation fee and senior retreat fee providing the bulk of the additional increase.)
- There is also a multiple student discount. The second student enrolled from the same family is charged $6,793.00, the third student is charged $6435.00, and the fourth student is charged $6,077.00.
Financing Options
Option I: Annual Payment in Full
About 12% of our families currently utilize this payment option. Payment in full is due on July 20th for the next year.
Option II: Semi-Annual Payment
About 17% of our families currently utilize this payment option. Payment of one half the tuition and fees is due on July 20th, with the second payment due January 20th.
Option III: 10-Month Payment Plan
The majority of our families (about 71%) utilize the ten-month payment plan. Equal monthly payments begin in July, and end April of the following calendar year. Lehman Catholic utilizes FACTS Tuition Management to process tuition payments through automated withdrawals from either a checking or savings account. Families elect to have tuition payments processed on either the fifth or the twentieth of each month. If desired, tuition payments can be made on both dates making the budgeting of tuition payments even easier for families (information about FACTS is available by contacting the school's business office.)
Note: The FACTS website works best with Internet Explorer or Apple Safari. Firefox and Google Chrome users may experience difficulties. Please close out of your web browser and try again if you receive an error message.
Tuition Assistance
Local Parish Support
Each local parish provides tuition assistance for students whose families are members of one of the local Catholic parishes. Parishes with students currently attending Lehman provide the following subsidies for each member student's tuition:
| Holy Angels (Sidney) | $ | 370.00 | |
| Saint Boniface (Piqua) | $ | 1,200.00 | |
| Saint Mary (Greenville) | $ | 700.00 | |
| Saint Mary (Piqua) | $ | 1,100.00 | |
| Saint Patrick (Troy) | $ | 600.00 | |
| Saint Lawrence (Rhine) | $ | 1,000.00 |
If your parish is not listed, speak with your pastor about the level of support he would provide.
Lehman High School Scholarship Fund
About 46% of our current students receive need based tuition assistance. Since 1970, the Lehman High School Scholarship Fund has been raising funds to provide student tuition assistance. In more recent years, the Annual Fund has provided additional monies to help support this effort. Tuition assistance is available to students who wish to attend the school but cannot afford the full cost of tuition.
The application requires that the parent provide basic income information (the same information provided the Federal Government for payment of income taxes.) The applications are processed by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS). Once they have processed the application, they will advise the school of the amount of assistance for which the family qualifies. The school in turn notifies the family of the amount of tuition assistance they will receive.

The processing deadline for tuition assistance in the coming year is April 30th. Because the amount of tuition assistance available is limited, early application is recommended.
All application materials remain confidential. The names of students receiving tuition assistance also remain confidential.
If you have doubts about your ability to pay the full amount of tuition, complete the application. Then, and only then, will you know for sure what amount of assistance you may receive.
