Dear Parents/Guardians,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new University of Dayton ECHO (Empowering Children with Hope and Opportunity) counselor at Lehman Catholic High School. My name is Jennifer Slye and I will be providing mental health counseling at Lehman on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the school year. My credentials include a Masters in Professional Counseling and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor through the state of Ohio. I have worked with children, families, and adults throughout my eleven years of providing clinical counseling services. I look forward to working with the Lehman students and families during this school year.

I have outlined some of the responsibilities of a mental health counselor in order to provide information on the services the ECHO counselor can provide in the school setting.

  • Individual counseling on issues such as loss, behaviors, death, peer relations, anxiety, and stress. Students may be referred to outside counseling as needed.
  • Crisis intervention related to issues such as bereavement, self-injury, or harm to self.
  • Consultation to teachers and parents to ask questions regarding any social/emotional/behavioral observations in students.

It is important to me to work closely as a team with the parents/guardians, teachers, administration, and staff to ensure your student is receiving the mental health support they need to guide them through these high school years. If at any time during the year you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. My e-mail is j.slye@lehmancatholic.com and my direct phone line is 937.498.1161, ext. 201. I look forward to serving the Lehman students, staff, and families!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Slye

ECHO Counselor
