Position Summary | The Lehman Catholic High School President serves as Chief Executive Officer of Lehman Catholic High School. The President guides the school’s strategic plan, engages and communicates with stakeholders on all levels, and hires and evaluates the Principal, Development Coordinator, Business/Operations Manager and defined personnel. The President acts as the chief spokesperson for the school, and ensures that the school authentically reflects the teachings of the Church, the initiatives of the Archdiocese, the mission of Lehman Catholic High School and the needs of the people that it serves.

Credentials & Experience | The role of Lehman Catholic High School President requires the following skills and experience to assure effectiveness in the position: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or related field; Prior service in leadership in an educational, business, or non-profit setting; Demonstrated strong public relations skills, including verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work collaboratively; Ability to work in a complex organizational setting; Proficiency in communication technologies; Must be a practicing Catholic with a personal faith commitment.

The President reports to the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, with defined oversight by the Lehman Board of Limited Jurisdiction.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Lehman High School.
  • Works with Lehman’s Board of Limited Jurisdiction in guiding the school’s quality, effectiveness, and policies. Receives an annual evaluation from the Board.
  • With the Principal, monitors and upholds the quality of the school’s Catholic identity to ensure that it authentically reflects the teachings of the Church.
  • Chair Lehman’s Administrative Team. Meets with the Administrative Team regularly to discuss the school’s strategic goals.
  • Supervises and evaluates the Principal in conjunction with the Board of Limited Jurisdiction. Through the Principal, ensures a strong academic focus for the school and strong initiatives in curriculum, accreditation, technology, student activities, and athletics.
  • Provides inspirational leadership to various Department Directors that report directly to him/her or to the Principal. The President ensures that the Department Directors stay on the leading edge of improvements or changes in their respective disciplines and bring these improvements to Lehman Catholic High School.
  • Ensures decisions are financially grounded. 
  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises the Principal, Development Coordinator and Business/Operations Manager.
  • Nurtures, encourages, and monitors the ongoing professional development of all staff.
  • Communicates the values, needs, efforts, and accomplishments of the school with supporters and members of the surrounding community.
  • With the Board, maintains and monitors the school’s strategic plan.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Lehman’s Partner Schools to actively promote the Catholic education system as a whole. 
  • With the Board, monitors, promulgates, and revises the school’s policies.
  • With the Board, provides oversight of the school’s financial plan, including fundraising, development, and budgeting.
  • With the Development Director, coordinate, promote and lead in the growth of the annual fund and fund raising efforts of the school community.
  • Determine the distribution of financial aid and high school scholarships.
  • Coordinate with the Lehman Catholic High School Foundation regarding its investments, scholarships, and periodic requests from Lehman for project funding.
  • Provides oversight for the proper functioning of the school’s physical facility. Monitors the school’s facilities plan. Ensures that all facilities are safe and compliant with relevant laws and policies.
  • With the Board, nurtures a well-developed recruitment plan for new students. Ensures that this plan is compliant with applicable Archdiocesan and state policies.
  • With the Board, maintains positive communications with alumni, donors, and other supporters to maximize support for the school.
  • Attends meetings of the school’s Board of Limited Jurisdiction. Offers regular reports to the Board on school effectiveness, financial position and community interactions.
  • Attends Archdiocesan Presidents’ Meeting and other meetings required by the Archdiocese.

Compensation: $72 per day

Requirements | Bachelor’s degree. Possess or be willing to apply for a substitute teacher license, an FBI background check and participation in the Virtus child protection program.
